This was stated by the State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, during the Stakeholders’ Meeting on the Badagry Deep Seaport and Free Zone Project in Badagry.
The plan to begin construction of the seaport, which will be hosted by 12 communities in Badagry, was conceived ten years ago, in 2012, during the administration of former governor Babatunde Fashola.
Mr. Sanwo-Olu stated that the government was in the process of obtaining ratification from the Federal Government, which he hoped would be received by the end of April.
“By June, we must have something operational for the port.” We intend to deliberately accelerate development in Badagry.
