The federal government has launched an app, REPORTGOV, in its quest to further enhance the ease of doing business in Nigeria.
Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Okechukwu Enelamah, launched the app in Lagos, yesterday, at the third Regulatory Conversations of the Convention on Business Integrity Limited with the theme, “Improving Transparency and Ease of Doing Business in Nigeria”.
He said that the app will ensure adequate access to information which is needed to improve business decisions. He stated: “With the app, you can make a complaint and it is forwarded to the affected Ministry, Department or Agency (MDA) of government to respond to and you can follow up on the status of your complaint and get feedback.
” In her remarks, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Industry, Trade and Investment, said the app is an innovative platform designed by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC)to receive feedback and complaints from the general public regarding the quality of service delivered by any MDA of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
PEBEC was established in 2016 to remove critical bottlenecks affecting ease of doing business in Nigeria, to allow the private sector unleash its full potential and is chaired by the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. Oduwole who is also PEBEC Secretary said: “REPORTGOV.NG website or the mobile App make it easy for you to resolve issues you encounter when dealing with government agencies and get a feedback within 72 hours at the latest. “When you file a complaint and tell your story, you contribute to federal enforcement, service delivery and public protection efforts on a national level and help us identify trends and track the issues that matter to the citizens.
When you give feedback or file a complaint, you contribute to continuous improvement in service delivery and public protection efforts on a national level.” She noted that the app will further help to increase overall efficiency of the government and its parastatals, bring any criminal closer to justice, help deter others from violating people’s rights or comfort and ultimately help make business easier.
