Wema Bank has said it donated chairs and tables to Isale Eko Grammar School, in Lagos State.
A statement said the act was made possible through Wema Bank’s corporate social investment initiative, the “Salary for Love” campaign.
It said Wema Bank’s employees selflessly contributed a portion of their salaries, embodying the spirit of giving back and leaving a lasting impact on the lives of others.
The led to the initiative which took place at Isale Eko Grammar School, the statement said.
“The provision of new furniture is expected to transform the learning environment, creating a comfortable and inspiring space for students as they embark on their academic journeys,” he said.
The Head of Credit Risk Management at Wema Bank, Uchenna Obazeh, addressed attendees at the donation ceremony and emphasied the bank’s strong belief in the transformative power of education.
He commended the dedication of Wema Bank employees and their resolute commitment to supporting education within the community.
“We are humbled to contribute to the growth and development of Isale Eko Grammar School, as we remain steadfast in our mission of corporate citizenship.”
According to the statement, the principal of Isale Eko Grammar School, Dr. Mukaila Olatoye, expressed gratitude on behalf of the institution, recognising the influence the donation would have on the students’ educational pursuits.
In addition to the furniture donation, Wema Bank awarded scholarships to two outstanding individuals from Isale Eko Grammar School.
“These scholarships will provide invaluable financial assistance and serve as stepping stones for these exceptional students as they unlock their full potential and pursue their dreams with courage,” it said.
